Incline Log |
A debarked log that is no smaller than 10" at the top, is hung diagonally between two trees. The bottom is 8-10' (ft.) from the ground and the top is at the 30' (ft.) level. Notches are cut into the top of the log so that participants may climb up the log while being belayed by a person on the ground. Belay: to make (a rope) secure by winding around a belaying pin, cleat, piton, etc; hold fast; to secure --a person, a mountain climber etc. -- by a rope . -- Webster's New World Dictionary
